Former US Marine Captain Brian Steidle served 6 months in Darfur as an unarmed military observer for the African Union's peacekeeping mission to stop the genocide there. He works tirelessly to raise public awareness about atrocities in Sudan and wrote a book, The Devil Came on Horseback.
Lillian is currently a sophomore. This is her second year competing in the Seevak competition, though with a different team than last. A member of several musical groups, such as the Symphonic Band, Football Band and Big Band (she plays clarinet and alto sax), Lillian spends much of her time at various rehearsals and competitions. Besides music, she enjoys reading as well a spending time with her family and friends.
Songwen is currently a senior and this is his third and final year competing in the Seevak competition. Over the summer he hopes to intern with the Boston Red Sox and in the fall will be matriculating at Boston College. In his free time, Songwen loves to crush and destroy his friend Eli in EA Sport’s FIFA 2010. His other passions include snowboarding and being better than Eli in everything he does.
Stephen is an 18 year old senior and this is his third time participating in the Seevak competition. This upcoming fall he will be attending Parsons The New School for Design majoring in Design and Technology. During the year he works at the non-profit Artists for Humanity in South Boston in the Graphic Design department.
