Fueled by his success in Hollywood, actor and producer Danny Thomas in 1962 founded the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, a “leading pediatric treatment and research facility focused on children's catastrophic diseases." The hospital provides entirely free services to children.
