•Wiesel is born in Sighet.

1945 •Elie is deported to Auschwitz with his family, when they arrived Elie's sister, Tzipora, and his mother were immediately sent to the crematory.
Jan. 1945 •Elie wakes up to find that his father is murdered.
Apr. 1945

•With 20,000 people remaining in the camp, the Nazis decide to evacuate -- and kill-- everyone left in the camp: as the evacuation begins, however, an air-raid siren sounds sending everyone indoors. When it seems that all has returned to normal, and that the evacuation will proceed as planned, the resistance movement strikes, driving the SS from the camp.

•Eliezer is struck with food poisoning and spend weeks in the hospital.

1948

•moved to Paris to study at Sorbonne.

•Elie begins to write for an Israeli newspaper

1954 •After a ten-year silence, Elie begins to write about the Holocaust.
1957 •Elie is accidentally hit by a car in New York.
1958

•Night (La Nuit) is published.

1961

•Dawn (part of the Night Trilogy) is published

•The translation of Night is published.

1962 •The Accident is published and is also part of the Night Trilogy
1963 Elie receives U.S. citizenship.
1964

Elie returns to his hometown of Sighet.

1965 Elie takes his first trip to Russia.
1969 Elie marries his wife, Marion Rose.
1972 Elie's son, Elisha, is born.
1978 He is appointed chair of Presidential Commission on the Holocaust.
1985 Elie is awarded the Congressional Gold medal of Achievement.
1986 Elie is awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
1988 Elie went to Nobel Laurates Conference in Paris.
1989

Elie went to The Anatomy of Hate:Beyond Hate in Boston.

1990

Went to The Anatomy of Hate:Education against Hate: An imperative for out time Haifa.

•Went to The Anatomy of Hate: Resolving Conflict Through Dialogue and Democracy in Oslo.

1991 Elie went to the Anatomy of Hate: 50 years after Hitler's Germany invaded the USSR in Moscow
1995

Elie went to Tomorrow's leaders: A young people's conference on international understanding

•Elie has his memoirs published.

•Elie went into a "Future of Hope."
